We want to share some of our favorites with you!
 |
Minnesota Sports Lovers: Having played both high school and college sports, Tim follows the local talent. Don't miss the new Target Field, home of the Minnesota Twins or a Minnesota Football game at the new TCF Stadium on campus. If you'd rather get moving, we suggest a walk around one of the city lakes or a Segway Tour along the Mississippi Riverfront or lawn bowling on the roof of Brit's Pub. |
| Arts and Culture: The Twin Cities has become a destination for arts lovers. Ginny is a volunteer docent for our world class museum: Minneapolis Institute of Art. It's FREE! Date nights take us downtown to the Guthrie Theater, where we have held season tickets for three decades. One of the newest theaters in the metro area is south of the river: the Burnsville Performing Arts Center. Ginny has worked with Sally Rouse and James Sewell from James Sewell Ballet--a world-class ballet company right here in our great city! |

 |
Kids Stuff: Whenever our granddaughters are in town, we are off to some of our favorite places: Minnesota Zoo, Como Zoo, Children's Theater, Nickelodeon Universe at the Mall of America, and Children's Museum. Our local parks, youth programs, and public schools make the Twin Cities one of the best places in the country to raise a family. |
| Insider's Guide to Dining: OK, we love the Fireside Pizza in Richfield--and it hasn't changed since Tim was a teenager. It's the BEST pizza ever. LaChaya and Harry's Cafe in Minneapolis; Cafe Latte in St. Paul. When our daughters were growing up, we shopped downtown for school clothes and then stopped in at the Oak Grill at Dayton's (now Macy's) 12th floor for a ladylike lunch with white table cloths and napkins! If you venture out to Lake Minnetonka during the summer, you must have some walleye at Al and Alma's Supper Club or enjoy a meal on one of their famous cruises. Wine connoisseurs won't want to miss the award-winning dining experience at Chateau LaMonthe in Burnsville. Wine and dine to music too! |
